Disappearance of Fanny Hamilton
In 1872, a lonely homesteader, Augustus Hamilton, placed an advertisement in a mid-western periodical that read, “ 24 yr man seeks amiable, hard-working woman of child-bearing years. Colorado Territory. Object matrimony.” Fanny McKenan replied, expressing her willingness to engage in such an arrangement, and Fanny went west. But in 1875, Fanny and her 18-month-old son, disappeared into a cold Colorado night. Read the letters and follow the clues around the Hamilton homestead to determine whether Augustus is a grieving widower or a cold-blooded killer……
